What is the liquid? water? How much liquid can be stored there and how fast can it "refill" with more liquid?

It’s believed to be the Skene’s Glands. Which are homologous to the Prostate Gland in males.

The liquid is lubrication, that is produced , generally on demand when a woman is sexually excited, and there may be a lot or little depending on Hormones, age, or health.

Doctors really don’t know. But it basically comes out of glands in the vagina, it is the same thing that the vagina produces for lubrication, but in a larger quantity.

I also am not very fond of the disgusting stories…

When you have an orgasm or just become aroused, your vagina released a muscus-y type liquid. Its normal. It can’t "refill", it just creates itself. Doctors aren’t totally sure, but its basically just liquid. For guys its called ‘cum’.
